Just Sayin - Happy Birthday

 Hello friends and welcome back,

My friend is having a birthday next month so I thought I would work ahead and make her card today (not something that I usually do).   Her favorite color combo is black & white with red so of course those are the colors I used.  I will include a handwritten note inviting her for coffee at our local shop.

This is a 5" X 7" top fold card that is decorated with dies from Karen Burniston.  You can see all the products I used listed below.

Thirst Quencher

 Hello Friends and welcome,

It's time for the Karen Burniston Designer Challenge and this month we were challenged with the theme - Thirst Quencher.

I made this card for our son's birthday which was earlier this month.  He loves to grill, and drink beer. Personally, I'll skip the grilling.  I placed a giant beer mug on the card front with two different greeting on the inside.

I found some perfect paper online from "reminisce" called Cold One.  I got it on Amazon.  I will link it below if I can.

For the beer mug on the front I looked for clipart on line.  I simply typed in freeclipart in the search box and found what I needed.  I like to select the one I want by clicking on it, do a right click on the image and then click on copy image.   Next I open Word on my computer - get a new page - right click on the page and finally click paste.  After the image appears, I size it and then print it.  Once it is printed I cut it out using the Scan n Cut but you could also fussy cut it.

I backed my mug with black because it matched the background.  I needed a tab so I left extra paper on the left side of the mug and scored it to create the tab.  Be sure that you score on the left side of the widest part of the mug.  In this case it was the foam drip (shown above with the line of yellow stars).

I wanted to pop up the word "Cheers" so I used the Karen Burniston Flip Frame mechanism to do that.
I decorated the rest of the page with stickers from the paper pack.

The back side of the paper was decorated with kegs and assorted beer mugs so all I had to do was add the sticker and then Happy Birthday.

March Birthday Wishes

 Hello friends,

I have many birthdays to celebrate in March so I thought I would share one of the cards I made today.

This one is for my friend whose favorite color is red.  I used lots of red along with flowers candles and cupcakes - you can see a complete list of the products I used linked below.  All the dies used on this card are from Karen Burniston.

When the card is opened, the Happy Birthday pops up, I used the Flip Frame to that.

Thanks for stopping by today, see you again soon,

Wild About You

 Hello friends,

I have a fun project to share with you today, it is called a Slide Card and I have to tell you that it is not my original idea.  It has been on YouTube for a while now and I was inspired by Angelica Turner who designs for Elizabeth Craft Designs.  When I first saw these dies from Eliabeth Craft Designs - designed by Joset, I knew I had to have them.  I got the entire collection, who wouldn't??

This is a large card, 7" X 9", but you could make it smaller.  It does fold completely flat so all you need is a large envelope to mail it.  I had lots of fun making this and I look forward to making some cards with the rest of the collection.

You can find instructions on YouTube by typing in "Slide Card"

Be Creative

 Hello friends,

I'm here today to share a unique card I made using the new Karen Burniston  Tea & Coffee die along with two of the new borders.  I used some older stamps from my stash and just enjoyed the card making process.  I have linked Karen's instruction video below so you can see how I assembled the card.

I love how the spoon moves up as the card opens.  You will find links to all the products I used below.

Designer Challenge - Bunny Ears

It's Designer Challenge time again and this month our challenge is "Bunny Ears".  I have a card today that was more than one challenge.  My friend, Jan, and I challenge each other on a regular basis to make something special and that we have not made before.  I call it the Jandy Challenge - combining our names. Jan found a Love Pop card for us to make.  It is called a nesting card and I will post a photo of the LP card at the end.

Here is my Bunny Ears Nesting Card.

Each section slides out from under the previous one.  It took me some time to get all the measurements and I had to make it up as I went along so sorry to tell you there is no tutorial for this one.  All the products I used are linked below.

Below are some photos of each section so you can see the details.

Here is shot of the carrot patch so you can see the details -

So happy you could stop by, have a creative day,
